This is a classic Waldorf salad with pears instead of apples. It sounds like a refreshing change – what do you think?
This Pear Waldorf salad is from the My Great Recipes and is card 31 in section 2 – salads and their dressings.

Pear Waldorf Salad
Servings 4 servings
Ingredients
- Salad
- 3 small ripe pears Bartlett or Anjou
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup celery diced
- 1/2 cup seedless grapes
- 1/4 cup walnuts coarsely chopped
- Dressing
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon fennel
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions

Wash pears but do not peel them.Cut out cores and dice. Sprinkle with lemon juice.

Fold pears together with celery, grapes, and walnuts. Set aside.

Blend mayonnaise,s our cream, fennel, and salt. Mix into pear mixture.

Serve in a salad bowl ringed with red-tipped lettuce, if you wish, or mounded on a leaf of lettuce on individual salad plates. Garnish with mint, watercress, or parsley. Serve immediately.
