Especially good during the winter season, apples, pears, pineapple, and bananas blend nicely with the flavors of maple syrup. For the summer, substitute fresh peaches, melons, cherries, and other fruits of the season for the pears and apples.
This recipe is from the My Great Recipes card collection and is good served with cottage cheese and freshly baked bran muffins, tea, or coffee.
When available, you may use fresh pineapple, diced into 1-inch chunks, in place of the canned.
