This recipe for Caramel Pecan Brownies was found in the Red Plastic Box Collection.
Caramel Pecan Brownies
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup Parkay margarine or butter melted
- 1/3 cup Kraft caramel sauce
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup pecans chopped
Gradually add the sugar to the eggs, beating until light and fluffy.
Combine the margarine or butter and caramel sauce and gradually add to the sugar and egg mixture. Stir until thoroughly blended.
Add the flour which has been sifted with the baking powder and salt.
Add the vanilla and nuts and mix well.
Pour into a greasted 9-inch square pan. Bake in a moderate oven, 350 for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool. Cut into 16 squares.
