This recipe for cake is from the Red Plastic Box Collection. There’s no cake pan size for this – any guesses?
Note that I forgot to take a picture of the other side of this card.
Butterless Milkless Eggless Cake
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 heaping tablespoons shortening
- 1 pound raisins
- 1 heaping tespoon soda
- 1 heaping teaspoon salt
- 1 level teaspoon cloves
- 1 level teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 level teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 cups flour
Boil sugar, water, shortening, raisins, and water 25 minutes. When cool, add remaining ingredients.
Bake 375 for 35 to 45 minutes.
