On the Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake recipe, reader Jason asked for a long lost family favorite: roast turkey with an apricot-tarragon glaze.
I seem to have lost my recipe card for a turkey dinner that my family and I really enjoyed. It was the apricot tarragon glaze (gravy) instead of the traditional gravy. My brother-in-law took a picture of the card, but I guess can’t find it. I am sure it was in the poultry section…I would love to make it for everyone again.
This one had me searching through all of section 9 (Poultry) of My Great Recipes and I think I may have found it.
Roast Turkey with Apricot Walnut Stuffing
The first possibility is this, but it’s got an apricot stuffing – not a glaze. You do baste the turkey with pan drippings though… maybe this is it?
Glazed Hind Quarter of Turkey
I kept looking and found this recipe for a Glazed Hind Quarter of Turkey. It is not an apricot glaze.
Instead, you use red currant jelly and dijon mustard to glaze the turkey. I’ll bet you could substitute an apricot jelly – what do you think?
Can’t say I’d bother with heating up a can of peaches though – what about you?
Apricot Turkey Glaze
So there you have it, Jason, my two guesses as to which recipe you’re actually looking for. Please let me know if I’ve found the right one.
