These sound like yummy cookies! And I sometimes dream of cookies while I sleep – so why not make cookies while I sleep?

Cook While You Sleep Cookies
Sleep while you reap! This recipe is from Bitsy Beasley – given to her by Betty Peuce, Roanoke, Va.
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup nuts chopped
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chocolate morsels
Preheat oven to 350.
Beat egg whites till foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat till stiff.
Add sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in vanilla, nuts, and chocolate. Drop by teaspoon onto a cookie sheet lined with foil wrap.
Put into the oven and turn off the heat. DO NOT OPEN OVEN for at least 8 hours.
Remove cookies from foil wraps and serve.
