The Crab Shack is (was?) an enormously popular seafood house near Wilmington, Delaware where elegantly dressed aristocrats rub shoulders with shirt-sleeved laborers and all dine contentedly on succulent morsels of seafood freshly harvested from the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays.
Over sized, frosted, and iced pitchers of golden lager accompany nearly every order, and sauteed soft-shelled crab is a favorite. When soft-shelled crab are out-of-season, serve baskets of crab-fried shrimp with generous quantities of lemon and Seafood Sauce.
