Apple Torte 1954

This recipe for an Apple Torte bakes in a 8″ square baking dish. Try it with vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream for a mid-century party.

Apple Torte 1954

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour sifted
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups apples diced
  • 1/2 cup nuts chopped

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.

  2. Beat eggs; add sugar and vanilla; mix well.

  3. Fold in dry ingredients, apples, and nuts.

  4. Turn into well-greased and floured 8" square baking dish.

  5. Bake in preheated oven at 350 for 40-45 minutes.
